BUSINESS JOB WORK EMPLOYMENT CAREER CULTURE HANDS NAILS MANICURE SERVICE BEAUTY VANITYFor years we have been calling attention to the hazards exposure to airborne chemical exposure in nail salons. Finally, due to a New York Times investigation, the state of New York is addressing it as an emergency.

Their investigation identified employment violations in the industry, along with some very disturbing health consequences related to the chemical dangers in the materials used in salons, most importantly the “Toxic Trio” of Formaldehyde, Toluene and Dibutyl Phthalate, or DBP.

But don’t take it from us, take a look at the reports from the New York Times, as well as Governor Andrew Cuomo’s response to it.

We can’t help with the employee treatment, but we can put an end to the fears about chemical exposure for employees and customers at nail salons.
